Wanderlusting in Isolation

It’s crazy, starting a travel-ish blog while isolated at home due to COVID-19, the novel coronavirus of 2020. Worst case scenario, aside from dying or having a loved one die, is that we’re never able to travel again. That’s not my plan, however. We’re going to get through this because we’re being smart about it. We’re “social distancing.” I hate that term. Maybe I’m getting old, but redefining words & terms & making stuff up as we go has become super annoying. Be that as it may, it’s an accurate term for “Stay 6 feet away.”

I never really traveled much in my life. I went to Jamaica once over 15 years ago. Aside from that, I’ve only poked around on the east coast. I met my husband in 2018 & we fast tracked to a marriage & a honeymoon baby. She’s now 2 months old as of this post. My husband has traveled the world & has brought me along on some of his more local travels. We frequent Florida, where we’re both from, & went to Hawaii on our honeymoon.

For as far back as I can remember, I’ve wanted to travel the world. I’ve lusted after mostly tropical paradises. I’ve longed for Santorini. & most recently, I’ve been eyeing the Swiss Alps. I never had the time nor the means to travel before, & now that I do, I have children to care for. That is not going to stop me; however. We will navigate traveling the world with & without the children. & that is the story I plan to share with whomever reads this blog.
